Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

The controller for the processing described here is the operator of EinerDa named in the Imprint. Questions and data-subject requests: hallo@einerda.com.

2. The short version

The EinerDa sensor has no camera and no microphone — it produces no images and no audio, only the information “present / absent / movement”. This website sets no tracking cookies and embeds no advertising networks. We process personal data only where the product genuinely needs it: for your account, for notifications to your family members, and for answering your messages. The details follow below.

3. Sensor & app: presence data

What the sensor captures. The EinerDa sensor is a radar sensor. It detects whether a person is in the room and moving. There is physically no optics and no microphone — image or audio recordings are technically impossible.

What is transmitted. The device processes sensor data locally and transmits to the EinerDa cloud only status transitions (e.g. “present → absent”) with their timestamps, plus technical device data (e.g. software version, online status). The history is stored encrypted and is visible only to the members of your household account. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or your consent.

Notifications. For push messages to your smartphone we use the push services of Apple (APNs) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging); this involves a technical push token of your device. Alarm emails are sent via our email provider Resend to the addresses you configured.

Account. To operate the service we create a household account with the contact data you provide (e.g. email addresses of family members). You can change these in the app or have them deleted at any time.

4. This website

Hosting & server logs. The website and the EinerDa cloud run on a server we manage at Contabo (Germany). To deliver content and defend against attacks, connection data (IP address, request time, user-agent) is processed in short-lived server logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 31(1) Swiss FADP).

No cookies, no tracking. einerda.com sets no advertising cookies and embeds no third-party trackers. The only browser storage is an einerda.lang entry in localStorage (your chosen language) — strictly functional, not an identifier.

5. Waiting list (form)

If you sign up via the form, we process the data you enter (name, email address, country, optional message) to inform you when EinerDa becomes available. The submission is relayed to our inbox via the form service Web3Forms; spam is filtered by an invisible “honeypot” field — no CAPTCHA, no tracking. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by emailing hallo@einerda.com; we then delete your entry promptly.

6. Processors & recipients

We use the following service providers. Where a provider is based outside Switzerland/the EEA, the transfer is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as long as statutory retention periods require. Presence histories are pruned continuously; when you delete your account, the associated data is removed.

8. Your rights

Under the EU GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To exercise any of these, email hallo@einerda.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or your local EU/EEA data-protection authority.

9. No automated decisions

We do not carry out automated decision-making producing legal effects (Art. 22 GDPR) and we do not create personality or behaviour profiles. Presence detection answers only the question “is someone there and moving” — it does not identify individuals.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
